EKUSH’S FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Ekush's unique language
programmes in Bangladesh is designed to provide total language
immersion. To provide the most time-sensitive curriculum, total
programmes combine core language classes with workshops and language
exchange with native speakers.
This immersion program has an integrated
curriculum, providing students with the chance to learn much more than
just the fundamentals of language. We teach students how to integrate
into target society, and how to interact with foreign people in both
casual and formal everyday situations. By combining our language
lessons with the study of foreign traditions, students are immersed in
the ways of life.
The immersion programmes integrates all aspects
of the language: reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar,
phonetics, and vocabulary. Accelerated teaching methods allow
participants at lower proficiency levels to acquire the language
skills needed for effective communication in a short period of time,
and advanced students to gain expressional proficiency at an abstract
level.

EKUSH’S LANGUAGE CLASSES
Beginner
Students who have never
learned any foreign language or who have learned a few words but
cannot express themselves in complete sentences comprise this.
Classes focus on introducing basic vocabulary, grammar, sentence
structures, and simple texts. Phonetics exercises and
drills ensure that participants learn correct pronunciation and
intonation.
Class work includes
everyday topics and participants are encouraged to converse and
express themselves using basic sentence structures.
Intermediate
this level is
for those who are able to converse on general topics and express
themselves using sentence structures. Classes built on
increasing the level of grammar and vocabulary, enabling
participants to express themselves functionally in different
contexts. Class work focuses on current events, civilization,
and literature to build vocabulary while at the same time
developing a greater awareness of foreign culture and society.
Emphasis is placed on participants' grammar, syntax, writing,
oral expression, and listening comprehension skills. Oral
expression classes include discussions of current events.
Exercises to improve writing, speaking, and grammar skills;
include writing reports, letters, narratives, and essays.
Phonetics exercises and drills ensure that participants quickly
master correct pronunciation.

ASSESSMENT
Participants’ progress
is assessed by continuous homework assignments and tests throughout the
programme. Attendance is mandatory. Participants are awarded official
transcripts at the end of the program.
PROGRAMME
Class-rooms are
well-lit, Air Conditioned and agronomical. Each member excels at his
or her own pace and became successful participates at the end of
course.
The primary mission of
the arrangement is to improve the learning. The basis of this
programmes is to place mentors in the class-room as a partner.
Communication of
learning strategies takes place through the development of a
mentor/mentee relationship. Mentors are trained in recognizing and
developing specific learning strategies using current teacher
education training techniques.
Usually it's small in size, having a population of 6 as lowest and 35 as highest.
The project is ongoing and runs throughout the calendar year.
ACCOMMODATION
We have a range of housing options.
Special attention is given to the accommodation offered to our
students. Accommodations are inspected and visited by on site staff
and have been selected on the basis of cleanliness, location, safety and
facilities. Accommodation starts the day before the first day of
program.
During the past couple of years,
thousands of students have participated in one of our language camps.
Their comments and feedback together with our innovative management
have inspired us to complete our goals.
Our dynamic teaching team aims to make
learning an enjoyable experience. The lessons are intensive, yet
delivered in a relaxed and diversified atmosphere. This approach permits
excellent learning results even though the time of stay may be short.

caters in 20 classrooms for language training in its 4 premises
each accommodating 15 to 35 students as usually.
Some seven thousand books and journals are there in its library.
